Emma Done With A-Levels

Emma has updated her site to say that she is done with her A-Level exams.
"Difficult to say how I've done and like the rest of the country I won't find out for several weeks. But I can hand on heart say I've barely left my room these past few weeks and totally given it my all and that's the main thing. And now I've got a million things to catch up on, people to see, letters to write and mostly importantly, a summer to enjoy!"

Ballet Shoes DVD

I've been waiting a long time to finally post this bit of news. The U.S. DVD of Ballet Shoes is set to be released on September 2nd, according to Amazon. We haven't heard anything from Emma yet, but I have a feeling that this is a legit date. So finally all us U.S. Emma fans can see Ballet Shoes. Well legally that is

Rumor Alert!

So according to the Sunday Mirror, Emma, Dan and Rupert are going to star in a mini movie for the Harry Potter theme park that will open in Florida. According to the article, the movie is being written by J.K. Rowling and will be "extra sequences and clips which will be part of the rides." As this is from The Sunday Mirror (not the most reliable source) and has not been confirmed, put this in the rumor mill.
Also The Daily Mail has a report out that Chanel and Emma have joined forces, in a two-year £3 million contract, to promote Coco Mademoiselle, a fragrance from the fashion giant. Emma will apparently be replacing the current face of Coco Mademoiselle, Keira Knightley, whose contract expires this summer. Says the article, "Once it became clear she is growing into a beautiful young woman and wears the Chanel brand so elegantly, they had to sign her up. Chanel realizes it is important to target a young audience."
[B]UPDATE[/B]: Apparently this is just an untrue rumor although no official word has come from Chanel. As we hear more we'll let you know.

Well, even with all the whining about our current layout, no one sent in an idea for the layout. So it's up to me to come up with something. Which means no more whining folks! You were given your chance and you blew it! You're stuck with what we come up with.

OotP, Emma, and Dan Nominated for Award
|
We're not dead yet! Order of the Phoenix has gotten a few nominations at the SyFy Awards. Emma has been nominated for Best Actress, Dan has been nominated for Best Actor, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was nominated for Best Film.
Voting for the awards is open to the public and set to open on June 25th, with voting set to close July 25th. The awards will be announced in August.
Also just a reminder that Saturday is the last day to send us your ideas for the new layout for the site. You can send them to uc_contest@hotmail.com. Remember if no one sends us an idea then you'll all be stuck with what ever we choose. I'm thinking a layout from Sorcerers Stone days...

HP Actor Killed

This isn't the happy Half-Blood Prince news I was hoping to post.
According to The Telegraph, Robert Knox (the actor who plays Marcus Belby) was killed in London. Apperantly he went to help his younger brother in a bar brawl and was stabbed to death. The police have arrested a 21 year old man on the suspicion of murder. CBBC Newsround has a statement from WB that echoes the thoughts of the entire HP fan community, "We are all shocked and saddened by this news and at this time our sympathies are with his family." As I hear more I'll update you on this tragic story.

Filming is Officially Done

Emma's site has been updated with the news that principal filming has officially wrapped from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as of last Saturday, the 17th. And according to Jo, Emma is now buried in studying for her A-levels. With this means that we'll be getting trailers and pics of Hermione, so keep your eyes on the site. As soon as we get anything we will be sure to pass it on to you guys.

Deathly Hallows Part I Release Date

ComingSoon.net has one heck of a big announcement for all us Potter fans: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will be released November 19th, 2010. No word yet on the release date, although David Heyman, the producer, has said that it would be somewhere around May 2011 (right around the start of the summer blockbuster season).
